Good stuff.
Contrast to a typical week at Residencia de la Hume, these past few days have been rather eventful.
The Final Fantasy XI framerate issue plaguing my machine was solved by removal of my sound driver--downright fucking weird, considering I've been using sound all these years without issue. My best guesses are towards the card itself and issues with the motherboard, or a problem with the latest DirectX. I'm hesitant to explore either. Having the system stable is good enough for the moment.
Given that, level 66 is extremely near with duoing back in the picture. I'm tempted to try Maat right away, as I genuinely know how to play my job and don't have to rely on complete freak luck. Would have to figure a way to get a test, though, which isn't really possible with a duo until 70... Oh. And I can understand my years of duoing and soloing giving an advantage in experience, but goddamn, read a guide or seventeen and learn your job, Reds. The videos I've seen are simply inexcusable.
Promathia is coming along nicely, too. Got four people through 2.5 without much problem, despite my use of Divine Seal/Curaga instead of Chainspell near the end. Damn black mage Mammet hurts. We got a few more people through to get ready for the Diabolos fight, which was more fun on reflection rather than practice. Finding the path up the hill in Attohwa is usually fun, but when there's a timer going and strange collisions happen (kept kicking Fae 'n me on paths where everyone else was fine) things are more of a headache than anything else. Just sad I (literally) passed out so soon afterward.
Besides being sick again (Spazicus Minimus's fault), Kissa got her student loan money. I've thankfully paid my deliquency to my own and we've gotten a few more things we don't need. My favorite is a Sharp Aquos LCDTV that cost just short of a thousand dollars after tax and shipping. Couldn't get a PlayStation 3 consequently, but the 32 inches of concentrated sexiness is definitely worth the investment. Should be able to get one by the end of the year anyway. Then, of course, we got the obligatory computer upgrades such as new video card and sound system for her.
Guitar Hero 2 is taking a lot of time and energy, too. Speaking of which, the hume needs to rock.
